How downloads work

YouTube stores most videos as separate video and audio streams at several resolutions. Which resolutions exist is decided by YouTube when the video is processed, so a 4K option only appears for videos that were uploaded and encoded in 4K. This page lists what the extraction backend reports and nothing more.

Playlist, channel and membership links are not video links. Open the individual video first, then copy that URL.

Quality options

Typical renditions are 360p, 480p, 720p and 1080p, with higher tiers for videos uploaded in those resolutions. Age-restricted, members-only, purchased and DRM-protected videos cannot be processed.

Only the renditions returned for your specific link are listed. Nothing is invented or re-encoded to fake a higher resolution.

Troubleshooting

Extraction fails on a live stream

Streams that are still live have no finished file. Wait until the broadcast ends and the archive is published, then retry.

The video is age-restricted or members-only

These require a signed-in session, which this tool intentionally does not use. Such videos cannot be processed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download a whole playlist at once?: No. Each video is processed individually from its own watch URL.
Why is 1080p missing for some videos?: Because YouTube never generated a 1080p rendition for that upload. Only the renditions the source returns are shown.
Do YouTube Shorts work?: Yes, Shorts links are ordinary video links and are handled the same way.
Is a converter to MP3 included?: If an audio-only stream is returned for the video, it is offered as a download option. No separate re-encoding step is performed in your browser.
