How downloads work

Instagram serves Reels and in-feed videos as a single MP4 at the resolution the creator uploaded, so there is usually one file to choose from rather than a quality ladder. Carousel posts can contain several videos; when that happens each video is listed separately.

Stories, close-friends posts and anything from a private account are not publicly served and therefore cannot be processed. Trailing tracking parameters such as ?igsh= are ignored automatically.

Quality options

Usually a single source-quality MP4. Additional entries only appear for carousel posts that contain more than one video.

Only the renditions returned for your specific link are listed. Nothing is invented or re-encoded to fake a higher resolution.

Troubleshooting

Nothing is found for a profile link

A profile URL is not a video. Open the specific Reel or post first and copy that link.

The account is private

Private accounts require a follow relationship, so their media is never publicly available and cannot be extracted.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download Instagram Stories?: No. Stories are tied to a signed-in session and are outside what this tool supports.
Does the creator see that I downloaded their video?: No notification is sent by this tool. Please still respect the creator's rights and do not re-upload their work.
Can I save photos too?: This page is built for video. Image-only posts will not return a video file.
Why is there only one quality?: Instagram typically publishes a single rendition per clip, so that is what is listed.
